Inkature Update — 7/28/26

We just launched a big update with tons of new features, improvements, and bug fixes! See below for a list of everything that changed.

Projects can now be given an audience rating — General, Teen, or Mature — right from the create dialog and project settings.
Authors can tag projects with content warnings (graphic violence, major character death, strong language, and more) via a new multi-select.
Mature content is gated behind a blur + warning. Readers choose to reveal it, and it stays visible for the rest of the session.
New privacy setting: "Always show mature content" — opt in once and skip the warnings.
A Community Guidelines dialog is now available from the composer and the new-project dialog.

Note: sexual content remains never permitted on the platform, regardless of rating.

Mention anyone with @username — the composer now has live autocomplete as you type.
Mentioned users get an in-app notification and a push.
Mentions render as clickable profile links (with hover cards) throughout posts.

Invite up to 5 co-authors to a project from its settings.
Co-authors can log words toward the shared project, and it shows up in their "Log Words" project picker.
Added authors receive a "co-author added" notification.

Log words that aren't tied to any project — perfect for journaling, drafting, or freewriting.
General writing counts toward your streak but is excluded from project daily-goal math.

The writing-session timer now has pause and resume.
Paused time is excluded from your final session duration, so your recorded minutes stay accurate.

Supporters now get a 2,500-character post limit (up from the standard 1,000).
Long posts are collapsed behind a "Show more" toggle in the feed to keep things tidy.

Added Inkature's Discord to the footer and the socials page — discord.gg/Z6Q7m6evVd.
Added a "Try Inkature" button to the socials page.

The "Sign in to continue" flow now remembers where you were headed and sends you back there after logging in — across email/password, MFA, passkey, and Google/Discord sign-in.
